Glad we did this on a cool, cloudy day. Once we hiked above the clouds, the views of the surrounding peaks were magnificent. Not sure why, but my Gaia maps gave us a whopping 18.5 miles total from the lower parking lot. The extra mile at the top was a bit tough. Loved this hike! It is long (8 hours), but so rewarding!

We are going tomorrow for the first time. Did you need a permit to day hike or park? also, was it crowded?
