The trail on the way to Cucamonga Peak is quite scenic at this time. There were a few places with really bright foliage and the trees seemed full. It was a sunny day. Peak temperatures felt a little rough during certain parts of the trail that were exposed and lacked shade. There are some areas where the trail isn’t very clear so having a GPS guide or map is helpful. It’s been some time since my last hike, so I can’t say I was the most prepared. I took 1.5L of water, a couple sandwiches and snacks. I ended up finishing my water 0.1mi from the peak, but luckily was able to share water with my family who came with me to the hike. The last 0.1mi to the peak was the most brutal. Partly due to the lack of water, but also because of the ascent. At this point, other hikers stoped giving a distance for how far I was, and just told me the time it would take to get to the peak from our location.
