The plan was to summit Baldy in time for the sunrise. We started at about 12:20 am and took as many breaks as we needed. Unfortunately we did not get to the summit in time for the sunrise but we did get to see the sunrise from the switchbacks. Elevation gain the last 1-2 miles was brutal but I feel that going down DBB was worse. All in all, my trip to Baldy took 12 hours. No shame though, goal was achieved.
Since we did start so early we encountered several different bugs, (ants, shimmery spiders, potatoes bugs and annoying little bugs that kept getting in my face because of my headlamp.
Everyone on the trail was very friendly and up at the summit we took turns taking each other’s pictures.
I shall be back Baldy, but I don’t know when.
