Left from the parking lot just before 2pm. Plenty of spaces on a Thursday afternoon and the ranger had filled the box with blank permits. There were a ton of people (and ladybugs!) by the stream, but it thinned out and after I only ran into 2 people at the saddle. I rushed up the peak to make sure I made it in time for the “golden hour”. It did not disappoint! I had the summit to myself all night. The bugs died down after dark and the winds never really picked up more than 10-15mph (checked the mountain report the day before and it was very accurate). Fell asleep to the twinkling lights of Rancho Cucamonga. Coming down the next morning was a different story. I passed upwards of 30 people before 9, and it was only a Friday! The trail is pretty rocky and hard on the knees, but the views are absolutely worth it. On to the next peak!
