I had heard Strawberry Peak was quite crowded in the summer, and going on a Saturday I expected the worst. I got to Red Box before dawn and I was pretty much the only one around. There was one car when I got there but I never saw the person it belonged too. They clearly didn't go to Strawberry Peak as I had the joy of clearing all of the nighttime spider webs for the hikers the rest of the day. The trail was a bit overgrown and I got a fair number of pokes and scratches running along it. It was nice to have the summit to myself. The way down I encountered several groups and the heat was cranking up so I am glad I got up and down early. Took about 1:45. Ran a couple of extra miles down below Red Box picnic area as well. Bummer Route 2 was closed because I was heading over to Baden-Powell for the 2nd peak of the day.
