Hi Lorie,

Most peaks in my experience that actually have a sign are not placed by the Forest Service, although those do exist (Baldy). It appears that most signs are placed on the summit by some nice hiker. Sometimes the signs go missing (Mt Wilson, San Jacinto). Some peaks even have multiple signs (Cucamonga, San Gorgonio). I’ve never seen signs for purchase here on Social Hiker, if that’s what you meant by, “Are signs available?” Time to get out the craft supplies and make some personal summit flags for each one of your next summit attempt.
