It was cloudy on 5/19. I got to Chantry Flats trailhead around 6:15pm and there are still about some parking spaces for about 10 cars. There is an additional parking that doesn’t require adventure pass, but they charge 20$. I went alone, drew a paper map and printed some information to make sure I would not get lost, but I was ‘adopted' by Calabasas Day Hiker/one of the Meetup groups organized by Michael and another nice lady about 15 minutes after I started hiking. So I hilked with a gourp of people of 11. It took us 5 hours to get to the top of Mt. Wilson and 3 hours coming down to Chantry flats.
It was my second hike ever and very challenging for me. Now 5/20 I spent most of my day in bed since my legs are sore. The group of people are very nice, friendly, and helpful. I was the last second to compete the whole loop. My phone shows 22 miles I hiked but it was actually 14 miles plus about half mile to see the water fall. It should be around 15 miles in total.
We spent an hour at the Cafe on top of the Mt. Wilson. I had a veggie sandwich and a sundale :p I ate a lot.
That day was cloudy but when you passed the clouds it was sunny and views were stunning.
I feel grateful that the group/Calabasas Day Hiker had me as part of the group so I was able to follow them and try to keep up.
I had a great time.
