Was so fun! We did a lot of research and made sure to have all the equipment for snow so we we’re prepared and that made a bit difference, I also think being able to read all the recent post and talk to people in the groups really helps. The rail is obvious to start and remains easy to follow all the way up. I would say about a mile in is when we really started to need micro spikes. We never felt too cold. We had long sleeve and vests on. The last 2 miles up for really challenging for me and I actually think it was the elevation which surprisingly has never affected me before – maybe it was a mix with the cold air. I just took it a little slower with more breaks and water and longer at the top. We got super lucky and the peak was beautiful this day- not too windy we were able to enjoy lunch and then headed back down.

in total it took us about 5 hour – 3 up and 2 down. The drive there and back from LA was totally fine. We left LA at 6am.

over all was an amazing first hike in the snow and I’m looking forward to more! Was also my first ever hike for the challenge and I’m so excited to have found this!
