Very chilly and windy, started just after 730am. Had to start at the college cause the Stanford entrance was already pretty crowded. Did the hike without poles, but they would’ve made it easier.  Used hiking shoes and was glad, the rocky stretches would’ve done a number on my ankles if i had worn regular shoes!  Lots of cows out, but only one that was even close to the trail, most were off grazing. For as many cars as there were, it was a pleasant surprise to see how few people I encountered on the trail.  Even at the summit, there were less than a dozen people, so it was nice.  Great views in every direction.
It was my first time trying this peak.  I did Black Mountain and Saint Helena last year, so I decided to climb this one first because it is shorter, as a preparation for the other two.  Well, even though the other two are longer, they may be easier.  This one has over 2000ft of elevation gain, almost all of it on the way up and over 1-2 miles less of trail, so this was not as easy as I expected.  Still very manageable for regular hikers, but definitely do it before the weather heats up!
