First did this trip about twenty years ago as a teenager, and now a couple decades after first summitting with my family, I brought my wife along for the trek all the way to the top. The views are amazing, but as we all know by now, the trail itself is a little repetitive and dull with its long, wide fire road almost the whole way up. Loved seeing the Robert Louis Stevenson plaque near the bottom, as I have taught his literature to my students in the high school English classroom.
