Stepped off this morning from the Red Box parking lot at about 0627. Temps were in the low 40’s and may have reach 50 by the time we returned to Red Box at 10:10. The Strawberry Peak trail was in excellent condition. We ran into a few patches of snow on the trail, but nothing significant or requiring any additional gear other than the basic hiking gear.
We had the peak all to ourselves this morning. Only saw three other groups (one solo, group of two, and a group of four) going up as we were descending.
We had 7.41 miles and 1988’ in total elevation gain. After a quick bite to eat at the parking lot we began our trek to our second peak of the day, Mount Wilson. 😉
