This hike was absolutely beautiful! I originally started this challenge because I had driven past Picacho peak for work on countless occasions, telling myself, “it'd be pretty cool to hike that mountain right there!”. I found this challenge about a month later and signed up. This peak did not disappoint! It was fairly busy at the trail head today, but parking was available and the entering the park, the rangers were very helpful as always. This hike started out nice and consistently  strenuous with a few flat spots to catch your breath. I really liked the cabled areas with the extreme downgrades and incline at certain spots, and never having done this mountain, it made it really fun! The views were absolutely spectacular and flowers were blooming making for plenty of great pictures! The landscape of the summit is also very satisfying once you get to the top! Plenty to see and appreciate about Picacho Peak, and though its a bit of a drive outside the city, I may very well be stopping back by when I have extra time to hike this mountain again! Great experience and this hike had everything I could ask for and more! Lots of fun!
