Decided to finally get out there and drove up at 6:00 a.m. from the OC – took us about 1.5 hours to get there and the Red Box parking lot was pretty empty. It was already warm though at 7:30. We were lucky though to have shade on the mountain side of the trail – before you get into the endless peaks! I'm gonna say that this was NOT my favorite hike – we've done quite a few other hikes (not in the peak challenge) and I found the end of this hike to be kinda disappointing. The views weren't great (hazy day) and the final peak after all the other false peaks was kinda a letdown. GLAD TO GET IT DONE THOUGH! And it is always great to be outside. Not many people on our trail going up – met quite a few starting (shockingly as we were on our way back) – I had 2L of H2O and drank my last sip right before the end of the trip – would definitely recommend you take at least 3 L with you.
