Started at Manker Flats and took the Devil's Backbone Trail up and back. There were a LOT of folks on the trail in the late morning, as expected. This was my first time summiting Baldy and it was a perfect afternoon for hiking. My girlfriend and I were either asked or overheard WAY too many people asking for directions, which trail they should take back, which trail they took UP, what direction to go…so many unprepared people out there. As we arrived at San Antonio Falls, we saw 3 emergency vehicles parked at the turn and 2 helicopters were circling overhead. We minded our business and kept walking though.
