Today was a long day…longer than I had anticipated, but I got ‘er done! We started from the Orson Smith trailhead, over to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge and up the Trail of the Eagle to the Outlaw cabin (the first 6 miles and 5,000′ of elevation). From there, we followed Cherry Creek Canyon to the “notch” (another mile and ~1,000′), then down to the saddle. Here is where my friends waited for me while I went on to the summit for the win (last mile and the final 800'). I had the whole peak to myself after all that elevation in those 8.14 miles to the top!
Great photos! Sounds like a long day. Over 8,000 feet of vertical?! You are a beast!
