Parking was a challenge! The first part of the trail is a mess and you can get a good look at the Bobcat fire damage. 🙁 There is a short section of nice tree covered trail. But once you pass the fire break, you are walking on the edge! My husband who doesn't like heights really didn't like this section. And thought about turning around. We pressed on…we did our best to get to the way of four mountain bike riders.
Just before the climbing begins take a moment to look all around, at the point where the second sign for the peak. Great views! That is when things get interesting. Trekking polls are very helpful.
