The amount of miles covered during the hike is not bad at all, the only challenge is the false peaks. Not only do they deceive you, but they also tire you out. The Trail is a pretty calm trail through most of the hike until you reach said false peaks. There are a lot of chances to stop and get amazing views of the mountains. I got there at around 6:45 am so there was still the marine layer of clouds hiding the view of Pasadena. It actually is an amazing sight, the ocean of thick clouds shrouding the mountains.

The hike has a decent amount of foot traffic along the hike so you are almost never alone. Apparently another hiker saw a mountain lion at the summit two days prior to my hike, so be cautious of that. I, however, did not see any wildlife during my hike.

It was pretty cool to see the burned face of the mountain from the 2009 fire. You can definitely tell where the fire took place. Once at the peak, I got to enjoy the view of the mountains and the city with a juicy apple. I rested at the peak for about 40 minutes and got to talk to other finishers. I even got to meet a nice couple who was also doing the Six Packs of Peaks Challenge. So to that couple, good work and see you at the party 🙂
