Completed the final leg of the Six Pack of Peaks today with a solo summit run of Mt. Sizer in Henry Coe State Park. At 17 miles – it was long, which included the 1.3 mile “Shortcut” which gained 1,500 feet in altitude for an average 22% grade (it’s like stairs for over a mile and a quarter). The trail had single track as well as dirt road, 3 stream crossings, a picturesque frog pond, and nice views. I was pretty tanked near the end after crossing Coyote Creek – then a long uphill back to the park headquarters. Overall, the weather was nice and I even got a high five from the ranger when I was done.
