Our annual Independence Day Weekend Hike to Mt. Baldy! A fun day that almost didn’t happen for fear of earthquake aftershocks causing rock slides, but we didn’t let that scare us (not too much anyway!) We completed 10.62 miles with 3,675’ of elevation gain. The summit of Mt. Baldy stands tall and proud at 10,064’  There were plenty of people hiking, but not too overwhelming, maybe 50-60 people at the summit by the time we arrived? We arrived at the parking lot at 6:10 a.m. and were hiking by 6:30, arriving much later than that you would probably not find much parking. It was a very hot hike back down the mountain, please be sure to bring a LOT of water, sunscreen and wear a hat!
