This trip marked several firsts for me. The first time hiking in the San Gorgonio Wilderness, first time camping at Limber Pine Bench campground, and the first summit of San Bernardino Peak.

The hike itself was pleasant and the elevation gain was at nice grade for pretty much the entire hike. However, there are areas that are more or less exposed and I felt the sun drained my energy on this one. Even with a long relaxing break and nap at camp the last two miles to the summit felt like a slug to me.

Limber Pine Bench campground has a lot of great spots offering some awesome views. The spring was running well (although it is a hike to get to) so water wasn't an issue. The weather was also perfect with a warm wind free night.
