Vincent Gap

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail difficult/impossible to navigate

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No bugs

Snow:

Trail snow-covered at times – Gear and expertise recommended

Straight up and straight down. We had enough time that we visited Bighorn Mine as well. This day happened to be so extraordinarily clear that we could see to the ocean, DTLA, Toro Peak, Telescope Peak, and the snow caps of Whitney. Beautiful!… and a great indication that I need to train for altitude more.

This is a fairly late log, so trail conditions aren't exactly relevant anymore. Regardless, most of this is on the north side of the slope, though, so snow will be present for a while to come. Ice axes and traction/crampons are strongly recommended.

Cheers!
