My tenth peak of the twelve. Started at 5:30 am and saw only one person on the way up to the summit. Clear, sunny, howling winds… my favorite hiking hat is somewhere in the valley between BP and Troop peak. Surprisingly I had the peak all to myself and enjoyed views of the surrounding peaks and the low lying clouds over the LA basin. This is a very short hike so I extended my trip to include Mt. Burnham ( Nice peaceful setting with a cool camp site) and Troop Peak ( another cool peak) for a total of 13.2 miles and 4500’ of elevation gain. The hike along the ridge from Baden-Powell to Troop is an amazing section of trail. Used the PCT on the return trip for a change of scenery.
