Mount Baldy 6/6/21
Got to Manker flats trailhead at 6am and the street was already filled with cars and plenty of hiking groups meeting up. I think I saw two groups of at least 20 people meeting up. So get to the trailhead early, or you’ll be hiking up a ways from down the street. Most of the people went up ski hut trail but we went up to the baldy notch.
bathrooms were open so we had a small rest and continued on our way to the devils backbone. Most of the trail is exposed during the summertime so bring a hat, sunscreen and a jacket! My friends ran out of water about a mile to summit so make sure to bring at least 3L of water and lots of snacks and food.
summit was beautiful with no wind and filled with lots of people celebrating their achievement from all different sorts of routes going up.
we went down the same way towards devils backbone and baldy notch.
