It was a sunny, warm day, high 80's F, nice breeze at the top. I was not feeling well, but desperate to hike anyway.  The vertical ascent was gradual and not overly steep until the very summit, which required climbing some steep boulders. The trails were lined with mountain laurel, which were blooming wildly. The blueberries were just coming out. We saw several snakes, many birds, and I heard a large animal in the bushes that I thought might be a bear, but I never saw to confirm (and I am totally ok with that!).

It's pretty cool that this hike takes you from CT to MA to CT again:)

I'd like to do this hike again when feeling better. I appreciated the beauty, but it pretty much killed me that day. Bring lots of water.
