I am tackling this 6 peak challenge with my pup Laika.

Starting just after dawn, my pup and I were eager to hit the trail.  With breakfast still in hand we began up the trail thru fairly dense forest, it began to thin as we climbed.  We had come to an area that was marked for logging, but there was no sound of equipment anywhere that we could hear.  There was also a section that had been burned, it had young growth and the forest was beginning again.  We continued up the trail over and under dead fall to the service road, we crossed for ~5 more minutes til we came across the road again.  Continuing up the road to the summit, we had climbed the lookout tower to get the views over the trees and other radio towers on the summit.  Staying for only a few minutes before noticing the ranger keeping an eye on us we had began back down. The ranger had stopped us and notified us that the tower was closed to the public due to COVID restrictions, but because we were alone he allowed it.  Thanking him we began the descent.  The trail was delightfully cool the entire way but the mosquitoes began to get annoying by the end.
