Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

Started at 7:15 am due to predicted hot weather today.  Hiked at a medium pace, with a few patches of snow near the top third of the hike.  Had to navi-guess the trail a few time, due to snow, but wasn't difficult to find the trail.  Near the bottom, ferns, manzanita and saplings of white pine, western hemlock  and ponderosa pine starting to appear in the burned area.  Beautiful views of from the Sisters, Mt Washington, 3 Fingered Jack, Mt Jefferson, Black Butte and Mount Hood, along with smoke to the north from the Warm Springs fire.  Beautiful day, warm with light breeze.  Lots and lots of winged ant-like creatures on the summit rocks.
