This an annual tradition for me and my group for the past 6 years, to hike from our local Rancho San Antonio Park up to the top of Black Mountain and then continue on to Ridge Winery for a tasting (and picnic in non-COVID years).  We always plan it for the Sunday after daylight savings time ends so we get an extra hour to counteract the early start time of the break of dawn.

Along the way we had great view, including seeing a big 6-point buck as a metaphor for our 6th hike in the 6 Pack of Peaks.  The cool day this year meant a quicker than usual trip.  It was a bit breezy at the picturesque summit, with its jagged volcanic rocks, so we didn't linger long there – and forgot to take a picture with our 6-Pack-of-Peaks patch until we were down lower 🙁

Ridge was very accommodating and let us start early on our reserved tasting.  After that, caught a ride back to the start and then grabbed ceviche tostadas and carnitas tacos for lunch to wrap up the day.
