Attempted to summit Bonanza Peak 07-Mar-2021, made it to the saddle before turning around.  There is a lot of snow on the trail going to the saddle.  Anyone who attempts this summit needs to be in great shape and take the following equipment: ice axe, micro-spikes/crampons, gaiters (which I did not take), snowshoes (which I did not take) and hiking poles with snow baskets.  I found it easier to go straight up rather than follow the trail.  There are many sections of the trail where the snow is 12″-36″ deep.  It makes for a long day!  I would put your micro-spikes/crampons on when starting the trail as it is VERY icy on the lower section.  Heading to Death Valley for this coming week so I will be back after the 14th of March for my next attempt.  With snowshoes and gaiters!
