So I did a thing yesterday….I had foot surgery in mid August and was laid up for a month with my foot elevated. Needless to say being active and then laying around for a month was pure torture, as crazy as it sounds laying around for a month was maddening. Anyways, each day I could feel my foot getting stronger and the pain getting less and less noticeable so I decided it was time to “walk” on one of the local trails. My. Baldy seemed like the perfect choice to see if I was ready and set out from Manker Flats around 6am headed for the Notch and Devils Backbone. I felt like my progress going up was slow but steady and made the notch, passed the Devils Backbone and settled on the summit for lunch in the howling wind. Sunny skies up above the clouds it was a perfect summit Sunday! After finishing lunch I followed the Backbone back to the notch and then the road back to Manker Flats. Feels great to be back on trail!!
