My boyfriend and I started our hike at 7:15am at Chantry Flats. At Roberts Camp we followed the signs for Sturtevant trail. It was a gorgeous beautiful hike. It was really gradual in the beginning but the last 3 miles was pretty tough. I would say 90% of the hike was in the shade and it was amazing how cool the weather was. But it was a little humid because there wasn't much of a breeze. My biggest issue was the bugs! I felt like I was walking through a bug swarm full of nats all the way up. I thought I was going to go mad! My bug spray didn't do anything, but maybe because it's expired. I was beat by the time we got to the summit. We took a nap, ate lunch, gone inside the 100 inch telescope, visited the gallery, and visited the museum. We spent almost 2 hours at the summit. On the way down we took lower Winter Creek trail. It was just as beautiful and shady. We finished at 5pm. I will definitely do it again just when the bugs aren't so bad.
