Never before have I seen such bad bugs. You could combine all the bugs on Middle Peak and around San Jacinto, and I can bet there were still way more in my mouth during this hike. Paired with the fact that the millions of fresh prints on the trail looked like a nighttime highway for a large city of mountain lions, I was certainly kept on my toes. Despite 11 miles and 2500’ of gain, I somehow maintained an average sub-20 mile pace.
