We took the Azaela loop option and came down the fire road. Fire road is quite steep so if you have knee issues keep that in mind.

There were soooooo many bugs and flies that made this a little annoying! My garmin may have even registered a few extra steps from batting at my face and swatting off the flies. We didn’t have bug spray, not sure if that would have made a difference.
Well maintained trail. The hiking guy website has a nice description and turn by turn directions.
It was very hot when we started hiking at 9 so I’d recommend starting earlier if that’s an option. We drove down from Orange County so it was already and early start for us.
Nicer (flushing) bathrooms in the parking lot of the day use are with running water to rinse off afterwards too!
overall a great hike with incredible views!
