Beautiful hike, much steeper and more difficult than anticipated, but we made it! 5 in our group all in great physical fitness and it took 5 hours to summit (spent an hour at the top exploring and nerding out on the telescopes) and 3 hours back down (2 in the dark with headlamps.) Bugs were pretty bad and I imagine will get worse as spring gets closer. Saw a buck and a doe at dusk on the trail as well as a ton of well fed squirrels. Get there early (before 6 am) as parking is a huge issue and we had to park .75 miles from the trailhead. Plan for longer than you think as it is steep and strenuous (also a bit muggy)
