I have recorded this hike 3 times, yet it keeps getting lost.

Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary by hiking San G with some very good friends. They have to be good to want to do this with us. I became a double celebration, the anniversary and our last of the six.

Beautiful, crisp, clear, cool morning to begin our adventure. Started the day just before sunrise saying good morning to Orion, and finished the day by saying good night to the Big Dipper.

Although the morning was cool, we took off the jackets mid ascent, and in areas the trail was cool.

Conditions were perfect. High clouds. Some winds. Not a perfectly clear day, but amazing nonetheless.

Took my time to really enjoy where I was. The smell of the pines, the reflection of the sky and trees on Dry Lake (oxymoron as it was wet-with lots of water!) The green of the pines against the blue of the sky with the white clouds drifting by. The bleached granite boulders with their glorious silhouettes against the brown of the trail.

We began at South Fork, and did the loop to be able to see the Military Plane crash site. A solemn point in the day.

At the summit, there were people all celebrating their accomplishments. Taking pictures and singing songs. There was a big group of Six Pack Finishers – Congratulations to all.
