Challenge complete! Six of six! What an adventure across all the mountains. For this one we checked notifications of trail conditions with fire and park services before heading out due to the Apple Valley fire. Trail was open. However at the peak we could see across the valley the fire was becoming intense. A quick picture, sign the book, and leave. (Missed looking for the geographic monument…) By the time we were leaving the parking lot the ash cloud was covering San Gorgonio and access to Forest Falls/Vivian Creek trailhead was closed.
