Hike Log

Chipmunks Rule

Trailhead:

Angelus Oaks

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road rough but passable

Bugs:

Bugs were an annoyance

Snow:

Snow free

As noted, lots of chipmunks running about. Not a lot of signage on this trail, but fortunately was able to check my AllTrails notes, which gave me the right trail to take when I got to an intersection with 3 different options. I struggle with breathing while climbing, but take lots of breaks. This is why I like hiking by myself, don't have to feel guilty about holding others up. I also like the solitude, I was glad I could do this hike on a Friday, which was way less crowded than I imagine it would be on a weekend. After a 2.5 hour drive from San Diego, I give myself some lack as I was up at 3:30 am to hit the road north.
