Santiago Peak (Saddleback Mountain) Peak #2

So this one was a little more challenging to find where you actually park to start the hike. Drive up the paved road until the road turns to dirt, then drive another 5 miles on the dirt road until you come to a “dirt parking lot”. You will notice its one of the first place you can park cars. I know these directions are a little confusing so drive until you see what looks like a dirt parking lot. Lots of 4×4’s and motorcycles but everyone was super cool and slowed down for us. No shade so bring lots of water. From the “dirt parking lot” its less then 2 miles to the first set of antennas, due to the clouds we couldn’t see the Peak which is an additional 3 miles past the first set of antennas. Once at the peak we were able to find the GEO marker but not the sign, Sarah made a quick sign that we left there. We were in the clouds the whole time we were are the peak. Great views walking to the top. This hike is fire road the whole way so be listening for motorcycles and 4×4’s.
