We got there early, 7a, because the small parking lot fills up quickly. It was freezing, 37 degrees! The first mile or so is narrow, rocky switch backs. Then the trail opens onto a fire road- where you stay for the remainder of the hike. You hike through trees that were burned in the recent wildfires.
