Arrived at Manker Flats at 6am and went up via devils Backbone to Mt Baldy Peak. The trail from the waterfall to the top of the chairlift was pretty uneventful on a fire road. I had the backbone all to myself and only passed 2 other hikers that were coming down. The final switchbacks leading up the peak were the hardest part of the hike. 3 hours to summit
About 15-20 people at the peak taking pictures. I stayed for about 5 -10 minutes. Took a few pictures had a snack and started my down via Baldy Bowl Trail. Pretty steep and lots of loose rocks. I fell on my ass about 5 times. I didn’t bring poles. 1hr 45 mins to come down.
2.5 liters water
great hike.
