Trailhead parking was a challenge when I started out at 5:30 am. As a fast hiker, I passed many groups of slower hikers on the way up through Icehouse Canyon to the saddle. Once I got to the saddle and headed up the trail to Cucamonga Peak, the crowd thinned out considerably.
The weather was on the cooler side and was considerably windy with 30+mph gusts at the peak. A few overnight campers but not crowded at the peak. The views from the prominent rock outcroppings of the inland empire below were spectacular.
Cucamonga is an easy, 11 mile hike that should be on everyone’s list!
