This was a very nice hike to Cucamonga Saddle having the picturesque stream along side the trail plus having a nice tree covering. But, for the next leg of the hike to the peak you descend about 200-300 feet before heading upwards mostly in direct sun exposure.  Not realizing we were going to hike on the hottest day of the year, so far, it was pretty warm but not humid.  I read it was 104 degrees in San Bernardino! On the way out, my husband Tom brought his water filter and we got to drink ice cold water from the stream.  Also, we came upon a swam of lady bugs.  I forgot to mention, I tripped on the way down and had to have 8 stitches on my knee, ugh!

  1. Thanks Jeff for the kind words. It was my first time to Cucamonga Peak and really enjoyed the view at the summit. Also my first set of stitches, but I didn’t enjoy that as much. It won’t keep me off the trails too long as the weather this weekend looks a lot cooler!
