Arrived at Icehouse at 4:30 am in an effort to beat the heat and the crowds. We were glad for the early start and did not pass many hikers on the way up. The sun rose before we got to Icehouse Saddle & it was a beautiful morning. Smoke was not too bad although it was hazy looking out from the peak. This hike kicks our butts but it is gorgeous and big payoff at the peak. Bring lots of water!
