We started out late on Friday so we found a cool little spot about 2.5 miles in to camp for the night. It was a peaceful night. The next day was beautiful, but brutal. It was my first time carrying a big pack which was 40lbs…gotta dial that in!! Barely made it to the saddle where it was super windy and cold! We took a long break and decided to leave our packs at the saddle and finish up. I felt like a champ until that last mile…had to just remind myself to go slow and steady and take as many breaks as I needed. I made it!!

Overall the trail was in good condition. We saw deer and a rattlesnake. I filtered the water there and it was cold and delicious!! Stay hydrated!!
