We got to the trailhead around 5:30am to try and beat most of the heat up to the summit. We reached the summit in 3 hours and 15 minutes including a 10 minute stop at icehouse saddle for a snack. We only saw maybe 4 other groups on the way up and there were probably only 10 people at the summit when we first got there. We hungout for about 30 minutes on the beautiful summit and then started our descent. We reached our car around 11:30am. Going down from the summit we encountered lots more people than on the way up, also the sun really started to get hot around 10am. The first few miles from the trailhead are nicely shaded but the last 2.5-3 are sparsely shaded, so plan accordingly. This was our second mountain of six. Our first was Baldy and we found this to be much easier than Baldy just because it didn't seem to climb at quite as steep of an incline has the Ski Hut Trail did even in the last 1.5 miles. Fun morning all around!
