Not thrilled with having to do this on the weekend, as I know it is always crowded. So I decided to beat the heat and the crowds by getting on the trail at 4:50 am. It worked! There was only one other vehicle in the parking lot when I started.
I made it to the summit at 8:30 am and was back down to Icehouse Saddle at 10 am. Coming down was a real pain because there was a parade of people coming up. Always yield to the uphill hiker meant I was doing a lot of stopping and waiting. Fortunately, I was not in a hurry and the heat I was feeling already was not as bothersome as I was not going up like those other poor souls.
