Went counter clockwise on the loop. Lots of poison oak on the trail. Saw these wasp looking things that looked crazy. Turns out they are called tarantula hawks.. google it. Didn’t see any rattle snakes even though the hikers we passed warned us of one they saw on the trail. The rest of the hike up to the peak was pleasant. Saw some wild flowers and sierra gooseberries. It was warm but there was some shade. The fire road to the top was challenging. The view at the top was amazing of course. Then it got hot. I mean hot af. The rest of the loop back down sucked. No shade. It was pavement all the way back down. I don’t think I need to do this hike again… at least not during summer time.
