ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Snow:

Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

We took the Paved road up due to the fact we were hiking with dogs which are allowed, but only on the fire-road trial.  Azelea is definitely more scenic and I would have preferred to take it- however, wanted to hike with the dogsters.  As of Feb 15th, there is construction going on at several different sections of the fire-road trail- so not only is there debris from constructions sites to your left and right, it's kind of a mess!  The snow and mud made conditions slippery and very muddy at times.  I wore running shoes as I was not expecting the snow and mud- wished I had my hiking boots!!!!!!  Regardless of this, the views are as amazing as ever! and the workout from the 1634 elevation gain is solid!  Loved it!
