Hiked up to Kelly’s Camp on Thursday. I knew the spigot at Kelly’s has run dry, so I lugged up several extra liters which I filtered at Columbine spring. It was a hot afternoon, progress was slow. But that cold beer in my hammock at camp was worth it. I shared the campsite with only deer, squirrels, and the birds. Next morning I had a very early start to make it to Ontario Peak and I bagged Bighorn as well, which has a bit more rugged trail, very nice. Lunch and a nap back at camp and the hike back to the trailhead was quick and easy.
