Sitton Peak 05/23/21

Parked and set out at the trailhead around 7:20am, plenty of parking and very cool temps. The sun was still behind the mountain and was nice heading up, went off in the wrong way and went up the Bear ridge trail which added .4miles. The Bear ridge trail was a little overgrown with bushes and foliage, and very exposed to the early sun, it seemed I was the first to head this way for the day and there was lots of spider webs. The last mile up to the peak was very steep but not too bad. The peak offered wonderful views to the ocean and Orange County. Had a quick snack and set out back to the car. Walking down from the peak was steep and slippery, I fell onto my butt twice, even with poles and good shoes. The afternoon sun was brutal going back! Make sure to wear a hat and have extra water.
