It was a beautiful day to get out and hike.  We brought our kids along on this one since they hiked Mt. Konocti with us and we thought this would be the next step.  It was a success with only a bit of complaining.  The first mile of the hike is the most fun as it is a trail with some rock scrambling.  After that the rest of the hike is a dirt road.  But the view from the top more than makes up for it.  We could see the coast as well as other mountains we have peaked – Mt. Tam and Berryessa Peak.  I was excited to see the view because last time I hiked this mountain the valley was covered in clouds.  There was a place for rock climbing about half way up and the kids enjoyed watching the rock climbers make their way up the cliff.   I love these sunny February days!
